A pair of desk speakers created using CNC routing and 3D printing.
OVERVIEW
Each speaker contains 2 main drivers; a tweeter that provides the vocal audio and a subwoofer that mainly provides the bass.
They both contain a crossover that is wired to both speaker drivers and ensures the ideal frequency of sound is outputted to each driver meaning a higher quality of sound.
The controller used in the main speaker is the Nobsound Mini which contains banana plugs to allow for a wired connection between speakers.
Potentiometer volume control and AUX input wired on the back of the main speaker.
Wooden panels are CNC routed and chamfered at 45 degrees to create a clean finish.
Geometric front panel is 3D printed and sprayed painted.
Wooden back panel is fixed using M4 bolts to allow for maintenance of the speaker.
Heated inserts are used for semi-permanent fixing of front and back panels.
Speaker design has a 14cm long port which was calculated using data sheets of the components chosen. This feature allows for equalisation of pressure in the speaker which overall makes the bass better.
